News Update September 2016

Laughter and prayer are key components of HOPE team days. Our September day at the Rugby office was no exception. It was great to welcome two HOPE practitioners – Jonny Gios from Cumbria and Mandy Harvey from Wales.
We have a growing sense that God is moving us into a new phase – to help churches reap what’s been sown through mission over the 10 years since Hope08. Church leaders from across the denominations are coming together next month at Lambeth Palace to launch HOPE 18. Jesus said: ‘As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.’ (John 17:18). Join with us as we pray that God will mobilise the whole of his church in mission – every person, every church in every community. HOPE and our partners will provide inspiration and resources so you can speak, live and love as followers of Jesus in your community.

HOPE's Executive Director

Prayer priority

‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’  2 Chronicles 7:14
Pray locally
Wherever you are, in villages, towns or cities, plan to join the National Prayer Weekend  23-25th September. Get together as a church, home group, or prayer triplet to pray for your area. Find out more at

Cathedral launch for HOPE Revolution Peterborough

Mike Pilavachi, Rachel Jordan-Wolf, Roy Crowne and Phil Timson from the HOPE leadership team were the speakers for the launch of HOPE Revolution Peterborough at the city’s cathedral this week. The vision is to bring together a team of youth specialists pioneering evangelistic youth work with churches in the greater Peterborough region. The goal is to see 2,000 young people finding faith in Jesus, then training as missionary disciples and reaching their peers. HOPE Rev Peterborough is run by local churches and youth specialists working together. If you want to run something similar in your area, get in touch with HOPE’s Youth Director Phil Timson.

HOPE Coventry – Healing On The Streets

Members of 17 Coventry churches are working together to offer Healing On The Streets. The team report: ‘An older gentleman who had recently had an operation on his shoulder which was causing him severe pain and depression and pain in his wrist saw almost all of the pain go as we prayed. Amazingly his countenance changed and he accepted Jesus into his life. He went away with a big smile on his face!.’ Read more encouraging stories on the HOPE Coventry Facebook page.
