News Update March 2016
Queen Video
‘A very simple, memorable message. Brilliant!’
How are you planning to use The Servant Queen to start conversations about Jesus with people in your community? We are getting amazing feedback about The Servant Queen and the King She Serves. Here are two comments – one Methodist, one Baptist.

‘The Queen’s birthday books I ordered have been delivered today…  They are absolutely wonderful and more than once moved me to tears – not an easy task usually.  I am sure they will be highly valued by everyone who receives one, and they contain a wonderful, very simple, memorable message. Brilliant!’

‘Our minister just read the Queen book and it reduced him to tears. He's going to quote from it on Sunday and order lots for our HOPE outreach in the summer.’

You can preview the book in the video above and download the video here to show your church, home group or Churches Together group. Click here to order copies of The Servant Queen.

Do pray with us that God will use each of us in this season to follow the Queen’s example, talking naturally about Jesus. May God use us to bring in an amazing harvest.

Village plans Queen’s Birthday Celebration
Make the Queen’s birthday celebrations part of your rhythm of mission in 2016. Here’s what one couple are planning: ‘We have used the “Silent Night” and “Not Such a Silent Night” carol programmes for the last two Christmases at a singalong in our local pub. As a result of this, and praying with the local Anglican vicar each week, we are becoming known in the village. We also provided music for the Village Hall Committee’s “Carols on the Green” – a secular event they told us! We are planning to use The Servant Queen resources for a village street party, with live music and a BBQ. The vicar and the village hall committee are on board; we have yet to approach the pub. We want to have the books available for each person who comes.’

Thy Kingdom Come
Thy Kingdom comeJesus Christ calls every person to follow him. As Christians it’s our duty and joy to share that invitation. That’s why the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting every church in England to join a week of prayer this Pentecost, from 8-15th May – let’s pray for every Christian to receive new confidence and joy in sharing this life-transforming faith. Pray for five friends, colleagues or neighbours. Ask God for opportunities to talk to them about Jesus – and maybe give them a copy of The Servant Queen to start a conversation.
HOPE in unlikely places
Meet Abdullah, right, who was recently awarded the MBE. Abdullah is a Muslim man who has an amazing relationship both with the local (majority Muslim) community in Birmingham, but also with the Interserve team and local churches. Click here to find out why he is wearing a HOPE T-shirt and discover how you could learn to work with Asian and Arab communities here in the UK.
Share the Miracle this Easter
In 2014, members of Carshalton Beeches Baptist Church in South London bought 500 chocolate eggs for £1 each and gave them away with personal invitations to their Easter service. It was a great, simple, fun and inclusive way to reach out into the community together. Find out how Share the Miracle has grown - visit the ShareTheMiracle website.

Risen MovieResurrection mystery movie
‘Risen’ is the epic story of the resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus after the crucifixion, to disprove the rumours of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. Also starring Peter Firth and Cliff Curtis, it launches in cinemas in the UK on 18th March. Here’s a short review and three ideas churches and Christians can use to make the most of the opportunities this great movie will provide. Find out more about the film and watch the trailer at
Archbishop endorses Try Praying

For the first time there'll be trypraying adverts on buses across the whole of Scotland. Also, there will be trypraying activity and bus adverts in Birmingham and High Wycombe, plus inter-church campaigns in Shrewsbury, Hull, Beverley and East Riding.
Thinking, planning, dreaming
HOPE is building to a massive year of mission together in 2018. We are working with Care for the Family to develop the Wisdom House for groups to use. We are talking to ministries about mission in prisons. And we are linking with groups planning city-wide mission events. Please pray with us – and pray with local churches. Plan for mission in 2018.
Thank you
We thank God for you. As a team we pray for you consistently as you step out in faith, love and hope to see your community changed and individuals transformed, all following out of our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our link is in prayer and in commitment to serve him, we so need one another, God bless you and thanks for all you do.

‘Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night you’re in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father. It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions.’
1 Thessalonians 1:2-5 (The Message).
