Remembrance - Defenders
Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day or Armistice Day) is marked on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour but churches also hold Remembrance services on Remembrance Sunday.
We remember members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. We can also use the time to reflect, pray for and think about current service men and women.
How could you reach out to friends and neighbours at this moment in the calendar? Maybe they might come to a service or Defenders event?
DEFENDERS, is a free gospel resource pack for all churches marking Remembrance Day or Armed Forces Day. Produced by Christian Vision for Men and supported by HOPE, it features exclusive interviews with Christian soldiers and families of those on the frontline. It includes a short gospel message from Carl Beech which would be ideal for a bespoke evangelistic meeting or men's group. It also includes meeting plans for Sunday School, youth work and adult meetings.
The Defenders pack will help group leaders produce great discussion material and high quality remembrance-themed evangelistic meetings.
