Lifepath schools event

Over the last ten years, Scripture Union has pioneered an innovative new way to introduce school children to Jesus through the eyes of historical figures and places. Classes are invited to special days in historic places, hosted by teams of local church volunteers. There they find out about the lives of monks and nuns, saints and heroes of the faith, from St Cuthbert to George Cadbury. It’s no small undertaking, but the results can be spectacular with hundreds of children experiencing a day they’ll never forget. Click here for more info.

Seasonal Presentations

Many children today have no idea what Christmas or Easter really means. But thankfully, schools always welcome volunteers from local churches to come in to classrooms and assemblies to share the story of the best gift ever. Through a vast array of different presentations in schools, Scripture Union Associate teams and volunteers from churches are sharing the good news through the Christmas and Easter story. And our regional teams can help train and resource anyone looking to start a brand new project. The Christmas and Easter Bible Comics are vivid retellings of the nativity and Easter stories and, for as little as 75p each, are an effective, low-cost way to get the gospel message into hearts and homes all around your area.

Journey to the Centre of the Christmas Pudding

‘Journey to the Centre of the Christmas Pudding’ and The Great Hot Cross Bun Hunt are designed to communicate the Christmas story in an engaging and exciting way to children aged 7-11. Their aim is to raise questions about the relevance of the Christian Christmas story to their lives today.

Journey to the Centre of the Christmas Pudding takes children on a journey to the centre of Christmas and the central event of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, this resource enables you to help children encounter the true story of Christmas and consider what impact it may have on their lives.

The Great Hot Cross Bun Hunt takes children on a hunt like no other. The cross on hot cross buns is often associated with the crucifixion of Jesus. The Great Hot Cross Bun Hunt helps children to discover the key events of the Easter story: Jesus' death, His return to life, and the opportunity to follow Him that this gives us.

The material can be used as a stand-alone event or as the first step in reaching out to the children in your community to help discover that God created them, loves them and wants to know each one of them personally.

It’s Your Move year 6 link

A key pressure point for children is the move between primary and secondary school – that moment when you go from being a ‘big fish in a small pond’ to a tiny part of a huge school, with new friends and increased demands from teachers. Schools are well aware of the pressures on young people at this time of transition and are wide open to help from local churches. And with It’s Your Move!, Scripture Union provides a tried-and-tested resource which really works. Click here for more info.
