Making the news...
A South Shields church leader has made headlines in his local newspaper. Pastor Joseph Omoragbon, who leads the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in the town near Newcastle is pictured at Jarrow Town Hall with the Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Richard Porthouse, and his wife, the Mayoress, Patricia. Pastor Joseph has bought 150 copies of The Servant Queen And The King She Serves to donate to schools across South Tyneside to help celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Jesus said: 'I am among you as one who serves' (Luke 22:27)
Next week on 21 April the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday, and from 10-12 June the official celebrations take place throughout the nation and Commonwealth. As we give thanks to God for her life dedicated to service, let's give thanks for all those in our communities who serve, especially those whose sacrificial service often goes unseen. And just as the Queen was anointed at her Coronation, let's ask God for a fresh anointing to be Good News people, bringing glory to God as we walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Thank you so much for working with us to serve the Church and communities nationwide.

That’s why the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting churches to join a week of prayer this Pentecost, from 8-15th May — let’s pray for every Christian to receive new confidence and joy in sharing this life-transforming faith.
